Volunteering in Peebles

Welcome to Volunteering in Peebles, providing a gateway to local organisations, volunteering opportunities and volunteering services.  Peebles is a small town with a big heart.  With over sixty community groups - from mothers and toddlers through to the Peebles Burgh Silver Band, from the annual Agriculture Show to the Cuddy Action Group - there is plenty of volunteering going on, and many opportunities to give a helping hand, whether for a a few hours, a one-off event or more regular commitment.

In the following sections we identify where organisations are currently seeking volunteers.  Our community diary indicates what is on and when.  And our directory of local organisations gives outline details of what they are, what they do, where they meet, and how to contact them.

Volunteering is considered to be good for your health, good for your spirit, and a good way to meet new people, friends and neighbours.  The combined efforts of the town's many volunteers make for a happy, vibrant community, as well as ensuring that the wide needs of local residents and visitors are met, and those less well off or more vulnerable members of the community are fully supported.
